Only7Seconds is excited to announce a major milestone in our mission to end youth loneliness: receiving a grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust! This funding will allow us to expand our capacity and programs, helping youth build meaningful relationships and a culture of connection.
Social health—our ability to build and maintain positive relationships—is critical to living better, longer, and healthier lives.
Despite its importance, social health has yet to be elevated as a primary health concern alongside physical and mental health. Research consistently shows that strong social connections not only improve mental and emotional well-being but also significantly impact physical health outcomes.
At Only7Seconds, we believe a culture of connection starts with recognizing social health as an essential component of overall well-being. Our programs—like the Connection Curriculum, the I Know Lonely Project, and the Ambassador Program—empower youth with the tools and confidence to build meaningful relationships, transforming their social environments and their lives and ultimately ending loneliness.
This grant will specifically enable us to focus on expanding programs in schools and communities across Washington State, reaching more youth who are vulnerable to the negative impacts of loneliness. Together, with the support of partners like the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust and our incredible donors, we can inspire meaningful, intentional connection and create a brighter, healthier future for the next generation.
