HARNESSING THE POWER OF STORIES TO CULTIVATE EMPATHY & UNDERSTANDING, INSPIRE MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS, AND HELP PEOPLE FEEL LESS LONELY.

I KNOW LONELY PROJECT

Danny’s Story: I Know Lonely Project

Meet Danny Rigsby, 2023’s first storyteller and the 5th story of the I Know Lonely project. Danny’s story looks a bit different this month because Danny is a busy college student and we weren’t able to record a podcast before this release date. But his story on video is inspiring as he shares the adversity he’s faced as a young person. From experiencing racism, to having a major sports injury, losing a close friend to suicide, and then having covid end his freshman year of basketball at his dream college, he shares how he’s learned to overcome the adversity life has faced him with so far.

He shares how experiencing depression disrupted the deep motivation and ambition he had previously always felt. But remembering the deep connection he had with his great grandma and the 5 meaningful words- “I am so proud of you”- she would always tell him was an anchor for him during those dark times.

This is his story.
